Yuanhengjia Garden Children carried out an assessment and evaluation activity of nursery knowledge and technics in the Music and Sports Room on the morning of May 23, 2019, in order to implement the Kindergarten Working procedures, Kindergarten Education Guidelines and One-day activity Guidelines for Kindergartens in Guangdong province, effectively improve the general professional quality of nursery staff, enhance the overall level of nursery work in our kindergarten, reinforce the awareness of the nursery staff on the importance of nursery work, and truly achieve the goal of "Combining Caring with Education, Nurturing, Emphasizing Teaching and nurturing". 

                                          

The judges of the assessment are Zeng Youmei the leader of the kindergarten, Huang Yinying the health care provider, Lu Weijuan the director of logistics, Ma Xiaoxia the director of teaching, Zhang Yueqing the deputy director of teaching and Guo Weiling the staff of teaching. To align with the principles of fairness, justness and mutual learning, various technics assessments were conducted and divided into two part.

The First Part: Assessment of Theoretical Knowledge

This part lasts for 30 minutes and centers around children’s daily protection and nurturing, fertilizing, and good behaviors etc.Before it started all the nursery staff put away their phones. They were looking down and thinking over the questions.

The Second Part: On-site Simulation Display 

There were three on-site scenes simulating the first aid for foreign body in trachea, absence traching and vomitus treatment. For the sake of fairness, they drew lots to decide the practical operation of the assessment.

The teachers that drew the same scenes should act separately in groups while explaining simultaneously. It is required to finish one display in 8 minutes. When a child got some foreign body stuck in the trachea, how to do the first aid? First find someone with a blocked trachea - then apply heimlich Maneuver correctly - ask for help - report to the kindergarten doctor.

It is particularly important to track the absence of kindergarten due to illness. Can the nursery teachers do it well? A Teacher from middle-grade class 6 followed up the child absent from class in time, asked the reason for the absence, found out that the child was suffering from some infectious disease, and communicated effectively with the parents and informed them of the do's and don'ts before the child returned to school. Procedures: calling the parents-- effective communication -- report to the kindergarten doctor -- when the children return to the kindergarten ask the doctor to issue a certificate before they resume classes.

Emergencies like children's vomiting often occur in our daily life. At this time how do our nursery teachers deal with them? A Teaher from middle-grade class 4 showed the whole process when children vomit: Children's vomiting - evacuating other children 3 meters away - disposal of vomitus - cleaning of disinfectant tools - closing windows and turning on disinfectant lights - disposal of garbage. 

 

After the competition, Mr./Ms. Zeng, the principal of the garden, summarized and commented on the activity, affirmed the learning ability and technical level of the nursery teachers of the kindergarten, put forward the professional technical standards of our nursery staff, and encouraged everyone to continue studying hard.

 

Nursery care is an important part of all the work in kindergartens. Through this assessment, the teachers’ ability to deal with kindergarten emergencies has been enhanced, their professional quality has been improved, so that they become more familiar with nursery technics and skills, and better understood the importance of the professional nursery work, thus comprehensively improving the quality of our kindergarten’s nursery care. The real purpose of this competition is all for the children and to better serve the parents!
